Joseph’s Home, Inc. — a community voluntary not-for-profit corporation, licensed and overseen by the New York State Health Department — is a legally, financial separate co-agency with Loeb House, Inc., a community voluntary not-for-profit corporation licensed and overseen by the New York State Office of Mental Health which specializes in special needs housing, including community residences and apartments for victims of chronic, persistent mental illness and dual diagnoses. Together, these agencies offer 216 people safe, clean, healing sanctuaries.

MISSION, PHILOSOPHICAL
and POLICY STATEMENT

Joseph’s Home, Inc. provides safe, clean and affordable housing/sanctuary for homeless, mentally ill adults.

The residents in these programs have one or a combination of brain/mind related congenital, degenerative or behavioral induced disabilities and have suffered disappointing lives that have led them to the cusp of despair and the abyss of economic impoverishment.

The Joseph’s Home, Inc. Extended Family hold to the belief that every human being has an innate value that deserves respectful assistance, safety, dignity and incentives to try and continue to help themselves and nurture hope and personal pride. To that end, the extended Joseph’s Home Family operates facilities that see to the basic human needs of food and a bed to call their own in a safe, clean accepting warm sanctuary with a Staff that serves as their advocates and care/help givers.

In the interest of the care/help recipients, the Staff and the Commonweal, the care/help recipients must meet certain criteria which includes not being a threat to themselves or others; no use of alcohol, drugs, violence or language/behavior injurious to the serenity of others; and strict adherence to all existing laws, rules and regulations of the government and the corporation. Personal safety of the consumers, the Staff and the community is paramount and inviolate.

Joseph’s Home. Inc. aspires to carry on the civilized world’s tradition of the concept of sanctuary for the innocent weary, frightened and self-perceived helpless in pain or despair — for all or any of God’s children regardless of race, creed, color, religion or national origin.
